When I was saved as a child, I did not know all there was to know about being a Christian, but God directed my path as I walked with Him through life (Colossians 2:6). I grew up in a home, in South Africa, where we went to church every Sunday. My dad read the Bible to me at night and we always prayed together. I did my best to please my parents and teachers and was a good child. It wasn't until I was 12 years old, that I realized I needed a personal relationship with Jesus. During a youth group meeting, the leader explained that I needed to repent my sins and trust in Jesus to be saved. I realized I was a sinner and I accepted Christ as my savior. After I repented, I began to understand what I was missing in my life.
The title of this blog post really speaks for it all, and so does the photograph above. While you may not see what I see in this image, it is there. If you look closely you will see a Dove, a Dove sitting on her nest, waiting for her baby to be born. This Dove gave us Hope, and we have an amazing and inspiring story to share with everyone. We are so excited to tell you that God has blessed us with a baby after a long journey of trying to conceive.
Being a mom can be stressful — it’s not all tea parties and nap times. Many new moms fantasize about the joy, the cuddles, the blissful love of their babies, and they’re unprepared for the guilt, the anxiety, and the overwhelming feelings of inadequacy that erupt when you realize you CAN’T do it all. Most women I know spend their entire 20’s trying hard not to conceive a child. They think that once they reach their 30’s, they'll be in a sweet spot in their career, gotten married, and then when they're ready, getting pregnant would be easy. I can say from personal experience, these were my thoughts exactly. I thought getting pregnant someday for me was going to be a breeze.
